The Speech House, Forest of Dean
The Speech House Forest of Dean candid Wedding Photography
Tom & Gemma made the wise decision of choosing The Speech House in the Forest of Dean for their wedding day. The impressive Gloucestershire venue was originally built in 1669 as a hunting lodge for King Charles II and it went onto be the Forest of Dean’s courthouse. ‘The Verderer’s Court’ within The Speech House is both beautiful and rich with history; over 300 years ago it was the scene of many judgements. The Speech House is set in the heart of the Forest of Dean, one of the only surviving ancient woodlands in England. Of course, we couldn’t resist a little wander into the woods to capture some of the beauty the Forest of Dean has to offer…
Tom & Gemma’s March wedding day was a few days after the spring equinox but just before the clocks went forward. I will always plan the days’ photo sessions around the best times of the day for light. I’m a big believer in using natural light wherever possible. I love the candid and gentle images it helps to create especially at sunset! With limited hours for natural light at this time of year, we prioritised golden hour and got that gorgeous glow we were after. I loved being a part of this magic day- thank you both!
