Verity and Patrick’s day was at the beautiful White Barn in South Petherton, Somerset. Being my first wedding at The White Barn – it has been on my wedding day wish-list for a long time. With its grand high ceilings and its modern but traditional aesthetic blend.

Verity’s eye for details was immaculate with bountiful flowers on the tables and the simplest but beautifully elegant cake from Little Buttercup Bakery.

Outdoor ceremonies

You know from the photos I take that I love a wedding day where the couple embraces what our beautiful countryside has to offer us. As far as an outdoor wedding venue in Somerset goes; this has got to be top of the list. I love that the UK is now embracing an outdoor ceremony. Since the new laws relaxed the rules around outdoor ceremonies, the popularity of outdoor nuptials has really gone up. The White Barn has substantial indoor space too, incase rain is forecast – the best of both worlds. And the team at The White Barn really are fantastic.

Although the flower meadow wasn’t in bloom for the couple’s outdoor ceremony; the cornfield behind made up for it; giving us some of my favourite newlywed portraits of this lovely pair. If you can save a spot in the schedule to take a wander with me somewhere deliciously green, leafy, watery or with a mountain view – I will promise you, you won’t regret it! 

I always think a long trestle table looks fantastic and the length allows guests to socialise with more people rather than smaller separate tables.

I love Verity’s simple but classic up-do. Verity opted to change into a second dress during the evening & both dresses made her look classically stunning.
