COBBLES WEDDING – BRIDGEND – VALE OF GLAMORGAN

Esther & Harrison got married at the lovely Cobbles in the Vale of Glamorgan. Its close proximity to both Ogmore beach & Southerndown beach (Dunraven bay) make it a great wedding venue by my standards, as it means couples can quickly nip away for portraits on the beach or in Dunraven’s walled gardens at Southerndown. Without being away from your guests for too long!

Cobbles is a carefully restored grade II listed barn near Ogmore-by-sea. It’s got lots of character with timber floorboards, high ceilings, oak beams and trusses throughout. The Bridgend wedding venue is surrounded by meadows, beaches, coastal cliffs, rivers and ruins; ample choice for wedding photos for newlyweds that love the outdoors.

The couple had lots of lovely personal touches to the day; Esther’s dress was a combination of her mum & her nan’s wedding dress, tailored to perfection by E & W Couture. As well as that beautiful berry-topped cake lovingly crafted by family members.

Of course, we had to make the most of Cobbles glorious location on the Vale of Glamorgan coastline. The newlyweds opted to explore the beach at Southerndown / Dunraven Bay as well as take a stroll around Dunraven walled garden.

Southerndown is a much loved sandy & rocky beach with a stunningly dramatic coast line and strata rock formations. Situated between Llantwit Major & Ogmore the sandy cove is the perfect spot for fossil hunting & exploring the rock pools. Just a short walk along the coastal path is the ruins of Dunraven castle & the hill fort. And almost too perfectly – the sun sets right into the sea at Southerndown making it ideal for photography. Although I love the near by Ogmore beach too – for a more extensive sandy beach option!

The loft barn interior is a real beauty; with historic detailing and decorated with fairy lights and white washed walls. While the outdoor courtyard is a lovely, versatile, sheltered, outdoor space; my favourite place for speeches. The newlyweds opted for speeches to take place in the courtyard; the light was fantastic and it made for a relaxed atmosphere that reflected how the newlyweds wanted their day.

The team at Cobbles are fantastic; organised whilst creating a relaxed atmosphere & the most delicious spread of mezze I’ve ever seen at a wedding.
