SHWMAE – HELLO
I’m Heather. The portrait photographer for nature-lovers. A Documentary photography graduate, I’m all about capturing you in the most beautiful natural landscapes.
Wales is a spectacular backdrop; I spend my spare time hiking and exploring forests, coastal paths & mountain trails. Finding beautiful viewpoints & planning ways to wrangle families to meet me there! Then I had the idea to share my love of Wales with those who are yet to discover it – but would love to be let in to some of Wales’ loveliest secrets.

As soon as I’m out exploring, nature is one great, big breath of calm! I can feel all that leafy goodness bringing my heart rate down. I love that I can give that to you on your trip – stealing you away for a walk in a location you may not have ventured to without my tour. And bonus – we’ll capture some beautiful photos at the same time in the fresh air!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – FAQs

WHEN CAN WE BOOK OUR TOUR WALES PHOTO SHOOT?
Bookings are available year round. Reach out to check if your date is available!
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND?
A maximum of 20 people can attend per tour.
Four groups can attend per tour. A group can be a single person, a couple or a family. Each group has their photography session together and will have a 10 minute photo shoot per location. Creating groups means I can dedicate the time deserved to photograph each person.
DETAILS OF THE PHOTO SHOOT
- A 10 min photo shoot per location (30 – 40 minutes total)
- Photo shoots in 3 – 4 different Welsh landscapes
- An online gallery to select your favourites
- High resolution edited images (digital delivery)
- The option to add on extra photos individually or as a larger bundle
- Possibility of longer shoots depending on how many groups/people on the tour.
PHOTO SHOOTS ARE 10 MINUTES PER LOCATION – DO WE HAVE TIME TO EXPLORE?
Photo shoots are 10 minutes but our stay per location will be between 45 minutes & 2 hours depending on the location. After your photo shoot, you are free to explore and enjoy the location with your family & friends. I will continue to photograph the different groups. You can have a break, take your own photographs or if we are at a castle you can spend some time seeing the historical exhibits. Sometimes the location may be a fair walk from the parking area so the allotted time also allows for walking to the best viewpoints.

I’D LIKE LONGER PHOTO SHOOTS IN EACH LOCATION – IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Yes – this is possible. A tour limited to two groups (max 10 people) can be booked at £300 per group / £450 for family of 4-5. Having two groups would double the length of photo shoot length at each location.
Exclusive booking for one group for the day starts at £600 (Up to 5 people, rates per person apply after that). Reach out for more details!
Photographing you beautiful people in the woodlands, mountains, lakes, beaches of my homeland is my favourite thing. Each location has its own beauty & I love finding secret spots to capture your portrait.

WE ARE GUARDIANS OF THE LANDSCAPE
As you may imagine, I am dedicated to preserving and treating the landscape with respect. Photo shoots will be conducted in a way that causes no damage to the environment in anyway. Sign posts in nature reserves and castles should be respected. All litter should be taken away with us & any fragile features of the environment should be respected. Guests on the tour will be expected to do the same.

CAN I SWAP OUT A LOCATION?
HISTORY LOVER?
As a photographer, I have included locations that I love for their beautiful story telling of the nature of Wales. Chosen from the perspective of a photographer that prioritises aesthetic and wild landscapes. I love capturing people enjoying the rich landscape Wales has to offer. If there’s somewhere you’d like to swap out – I’m flexible – let me know your preference. For example, I would recommend adding Big Pit to the tour for those that would like to have a great historical experience. Although there may be some limitations at other locations e.g. at Big Pit photographs can’t be taken inside the mine. If you prefer to add in a mix of more historical stops I can accommodate that.
Similarly, if hiking is your thing – I can add in some excellent trails!

ACCESSIBILITY
If any of the group have mobility issues – let me know in advance so I can plan locations that are easier to access. Not all the locations listed above are inclusive – accessibility wise.
SEASONAL CHANGES
Depending on the time of year, seasonal options may be available – like visiting the bluebell woods in May!
